Letters of Encouragement from our friends:

Dear brothers and sisters of Crossway Church,

I want to start by asking you to join me in praising our Lord for making this church plant a reality.

Jesus Himself promised "On this rock I will build my church." Jesus is into church. His passion lies there. And when we let Him build His church, there is no power or authority that can stand in its way. So I charge you to let Him have His way at Crossway Church. Let Christ our Lord reign supremely in your congregation.

I join the entire family here at Sarang Community Church in blessing you as you begin this church plant. Please know that we will be with you in prayer and support. To Pastor Steve, Sharon and the entire Crossway congregation, press on in Jesus' name!

Pastor Daniel Kim

Senior Pastor

Sarang Community Church

Dear Steve,

God be with you as you plant this new branch of Christ’s church. The church in the modern West is in a dire condition. It has become so much a part of American culture that it is enfeebled and often more American than ChristianKeep alive the best of your Korean traditions and be grateful for the best of your new country, yet keep a watchful eye on the seductions of American culture.

Above all, and in everything, stay faithful to Jesus and avoid the shallowness, worldliness, and divisiveness of many of the churches around you. Think in terms of a hundred years and not five, in terms of God’s success and not the world’s, and in terms of the full gospel of Jesus and not just the easy parts that serve to justify our modern habits and conveniences.

Be strong, be daring, be patient, stay faithful. Launch out into the deep, and may God be with you.

 Dear Daniel & Steve,

Your church has been an inspiration to me of what a church should look like, with your passion for prayer and discipleship. I was excited to hear that you are duplicating it with a new church plant. May God bless you as you continue to share the gospel with others.

Dear Pastor Steve & Crossway Community Church,

We were blessed by your teams during the last 5 years. I am so excited to know that you obey God’s calling. Abraham left his home town when God called him. Just like him, you are now leaving Sarang Community Church. I am so encouraged by you, and it encourages me to also want to obey God everyday.

You are not alone; God is with you.  I trust that our God will lead you and bless you. Please know that we will be praying for your ministry. May God bless you and your congregation.

Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!

We, at Evergreen SGV, rejoice at the news that Sarang Church is expanding the Kingdom of God by planting Crossway Community Church. It blesses us to know that we have brothers and sisters who are willing to pay the price necessary for such a venture of faith.

We give thanks to God for Pastor Daniel Kim for his vision and leadership in this ministry project. By experience, we know how difficult it is to let go a portion of one’s church family in order to start a new one.

We also give thanks to God for Pastor Steve Choi for his willingness to take a risk for the Lord. It takes faith and a strong sense of calling to leave a loving, supportive church for an adventure such as this. We have every confidence that the Lord is going to bless his every step.

For all of you who are going and for all of you who are staying, may the Lord bless and grow you through your participation in this blessed challenge from Him. We believe that this step of faith pleases the Lord.

Finally, this is our scripture prayer for you all:

“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.”

Indeed, may all the glory go to the One who deserves it.

As admire the courage of Sarang Church and celebrate the beginning of Crossway Community Church, I recall Apostle Paul's own understanding of ministry, "for what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake" (II Cor. 4:5).

With this, I pray that Rev. Steve Choi and its congregation would take seriously the Lordship of Christ, obey consistently Christ's vision for the world, and practice faithfully His servant-like manner.

May this new church proclaim the message of God's undying love and inexpressible joy as it welcomes strangers and makes friends of them, as it sings its sacred songs and celebrates the sacraments, as it teaches its young, as it cares for its wounded, and as it reaches out to the needy and lost wherever they are.

May this church be a place where all can feel God's presence, accept Christ's abundant grace, and strive for a genuine community under One Spirit.

Congratulations on your undertaking of a brand new church, Crossway!

How wonderful it is to witness the partnership built between Sarang Community Church and Crossway Church for furthering God's kingdom. I thank God that Rev. Daniel Kim and the leadership of Sarang have made a bold decision to branch out. I’m also thankful that Crossway Church will be led by Pastor Steve Choi.

I have the utmost respect for both pastors and pray that through this partnership, God's glory will be manifested throughout the world so that the kingdom of God may expand immensely.

Dear Saints, be faithful to Crossway Church, which is purchased by the blood of Jesus Christ (Matthew 6:33).

May God bless both churches with His exceedingly abundant love, grace, power and wisdom!

Dear Steve:

Congratulations! Steve. I am excited to hear God is granting you His grace to plant Crossway Community Church. It is a great blessing, honor, privilege, and responsibility to be able to be used as a laborer to plant God’s Church. Your church planting is a significant movement in God’s eyes because it is one of God’s plans in the 21st century to reach America and the world.

I believe God is calling second generation Korean pastors to plant multiethnic churches in America to reach out with the Gospel before the return of Christ. I believe, in the 21st century, reaching America with Gospel of Christ is reaching the world with Gospel because the world has come to America.

God initially sent Korean Christians to America and allowed them to plant Korean speaking first generation churches, and they were able to plant about 4000 churches.

What was God’s purpose of planting Korean speaking churches in AmericaGod’s great purpose in that was none other than to reach America and the world with the Gospel. And howill the first generation be able to do it? By raising up the second generation pastors and leaders and sending them out byhelping them to plant the multiethnic churches. That is what exactly Sarang Community church has done with a visionary leader like Rev. Daniel Kim.

So then what is God’s strategy to reach the world with Gospel of Christ in 21st century? I am convinced that it is by planting multiethnic churches in AmericaI am also convinced that the Korean second generation pastors are called to do it. I do pray both Korean first and second generation pastors would all realize this.

I do pray that Sarang Community Church will repeat the multiethnic church plantingand that Crossway Church will also be able to help plant a daughter church in the near future. I pray for Crossway Church will grow in grace and truth with that purpose, and I look forward with joy the day I will be able to visityour church. May God bless both Sarang Community Church and Crossway Church.
